What Is Facial Nano Fat Microlipoinjection Fat Transfer?

Also known as micro-fat grafting, ALMI, micronized injection, or nano fat grafting, this procedure is a refined and specific technique of fat transfer, where a small amount of fat is removed and injected into other areas of the body. The word “nano” or “micro” refers to the very small particles of fat that are specifically emulsified and used for areas with very defined contours, such as the fine lines, wrinkles, temples, tear troughs, dark circles around the eyes. The best part of it is that it is an in office, very safe, easy, economical way to replace larger volume loss and can be precisely injected with a filler sized injection needle or cannula.

Nano Fat Grafting, Microlipoinjection, also called autologous fat transfer, is a procedure in which an individual’s own body fat is used to plump up sunken or emaciated areas of the face or to add volume where desired. The word “autologous” simply refers to the use of one’s own tissues or fat. Because the patient’s own fat is used, autologous fat transfer requires three steps. The first step involves the gentle liposuction some excess fat (such as that found in the love handles, abdomen, thighs, or buttocks). The second step involves the isolation and cleansing of the fat cells and isolating specialized cells and growth factors. The third and final step involves the injection of the fat cells into the targeted facial areas along with PRP, Platelet Rich Plasma (i.e., the fat cell transplantation).
