There are certain characteristics that define the ideal candidate for breast lift surgery. Though breast lift surgery can give you a confidence boost, it’s not the answer to a perfect life. Crescent Lift
The crescent lift procedure is the least invasive procedure. The nipple position is improved by removing a crescent of skin from the top of the nipple area. This incision is also known as a Partial Mastopexy.
Benelli Lift
A Benelli lift, or Circumoral Lift, is a doughnut shaped incision made around the areola. Circular tissue is then removed around the border of the areola and in some instances, excess skin is also removed. This technique allows the surgeon to move the nipple to a higher position.
Lollipop Lift
A Vertical Scar Mastopexy, commonly called the Lollipop Lift, is similar to the Benelli lift but is meant for women with a higher degree of sagging. In this procedure two incisions are made, there’s a circular incision around the areola and an incision that goes from the bottom of the areola vertically to the crease beneath the breast, creating the shape of a lollipop.
Anchor Incision
The anchor shaped incision, also called the Mastopexy Lift, is one of the most common techniques for a breast lift and is used to lift breasts with with down-facing nipples and excessive sagging. This technique takes the Anchor Incision a step further by adding additional incisions along the breast crease to create an anchor shape. Though this is the most invasive technique, it produces dramatically positive results for women who have significant drops to their breasts.
Recovery
Just like many other surgeries, there is a recovery period after a breast lift surgery. Prior to the procedure, it’s wise to make arrangements with family, friends, and work, to make sure you have the support you need post-surgery. Allowing yourself plenty of time to heal is an important step. Your surgeon will advise you of the activities you can and can’t participate in for the first few weeks. Usually after the first two months you can return to full impact activities.
